Tatana Contracting Ltd is an approved contractor for providing service connections to infrastructure owned by the Horowhenua District Council. Our team has years of experience and is qualified to install underground pipes and cables by open trench and trench-less methods, including water, sewer, power, gas, telecommunications and fibre optic cables.
The council has instituted a new process for applying for a new connection or disconnection with key points to note including:

It is the applicant's responsibility to engage an approved contractor to complete all works associated with the connection at agreed terms.

When considering a connection, the applicant or owner must think carefully about the use of the site and seek professional advice from a registered plumber to ensure the correct level of protection is given to the public water supply.
- Applicants will need to pay for the cost of the connection directly to the approved contractor as per the agreed terms. Applications will incur a non-refundable administration fee of $200.00 (including GST) and are valid for 12 months from permission being granted by the council.

For all works within the council reserve
Power connections: You will need to contact Electra or Scanpower, they will then contact us for a quote to do your work.
Telecommunications connection: Your electrician would have applied for a new connection and should have plans and approvals from the asset provider. We will need a copy of these.
Water and sewer connections: We will need a copy of your approved resource consent from the council, along with your surveyor's drainage plan.
Works within a private property
Power connections: Please provide a copy of the approved resource consent from the council, along with your surveyor's drainage plan.
Telecommunications connection: Please provide a copy of the approved resource consent from the council, along with your surveyor's drainage plan.
Water and Sewer connections: Please provide a copy of the approved resource consent from the council, along with your surveyor's drainage plan.
-All of the above will need to be provided prior to a quotation being completed.
Our Charges
*Tatana Contracting Ltd charge a fee of $100.00 for water and/or sewer service connection quotations. On acceptance of the quote, the $100.00 fee will be deducted from your final invoice.
(This fee is payable prior to provision of your quotation)
If the quotation is accepted, a 50% deposit is required before work commences.
