A major achievement for Tatana Contracting Ltd was the successful completion of the Rauparaha Street Sewer Pump Station upgrade project for $1.3M. See photos from the worksite of different stages of the project.
The work involved the duplication of the existing pump station down to a depth of seven meters that linked up the existing and new pump station wet wells with a low-level connection. A major variation to the contract required a redesign of the wet well construction due to unforeseen ground conditions. This included the refurbishment of the existing pump station as well as constructing large diameter bulk sewer mains, at depth in the middle of Te Moana Road, that linked up both pump stations via a large diameter flow splitting chamber.
